Animal rescues and organisations on the Azores

There are several organizations and motivated individuals working very hard to make a difference in the lives of the many abandoned animals of the Azores islands. The kennels - an absolute last resort for an animal - are overcrowded, understaffed and often lack basic care and acceptable sanitary conditions. Following is a list of animal organizations. Bear in mind there is little to no governmental support, so if you reach out for help please contribute what you can.
